Originally from the mountains of Virginia, Ethan has been travelling since he was three months old, first with his family across the Middle East and Europe, before settling in Colorado. There, he spent his early years skiing and spending time outdoors - an upbringing that gave him a natural sense of different cultures and how places around the world are lived and explored.

Heading out into the world again, he began as a tour leader in the United States before moving to Asia, where Japan became his focus. Now based in Kyoto, he spends his time hiking in the mountains and cycling beyond the city.

Through Windows to Japan, Ethan creates journeys that reflect a real understanding of how Japan is explored.
